Foundational Truth: Walking with God is NOT WITHOUT OPPOSITION.

What separated David from the rest: DISCERNMENT.

Because of this, David was able to understand:
1. Who the real enemy was. (17:26)
2. Why there was reason not to fear. (17:34-37, Deut. 20:1-8)
3. How the battle was to be fought. (17:38-40, 45)
4. Whom the battle truly belonged to. (17:47)
5. Where the glory needed to be directed. (17:46-47)

Closing thought: When facing opposition, God only requires us to have full confidence in HIM and courage to stand for HIM.
