Financial Freedom (Matthew 6:24)

Tom Demorest, April 21, 2013
Part of the The Green Elephant series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

UPDATE: Due to technical error the sermon this week did not record. Sorry for the inconvenience. Below are the Scripture verses used and notes:

Matthew 6:24, Ecclesiastes 5:10, Luke 12:16-21

Foundational Question:
Is your life master by GOD or MONEY?

How Money Masters Us:
1. Excessive DEBT.

LIE: POSSESSIONS BRING SATISFACTION.

TRUTH: When we FALL INTO DEBT, we limit our availability to God so we CAN HAVE WHAT WE WANT, NOW.

2. Excessive SAVING.

LIE: BEING A GOOD STEWARD MEANS SAVING.

TRUTH: When we SAVE EXCESSIVELY, we limit our availability to God so we WON'T HAVE TO TRUST HIM LATER.

Closing Thought:
I can be committed to God's plan for my PRESENT AND FUTURE because He committed to me ON THE CROSS.
