God's Blessing Through Hardship (Exodus 1:1-14, Exodus 2:23-3:10)
Terry Coon, February 14, 2021Part of the Covenants of God series, preached at a Sunday Morning service
Exodus 1:1-14; 2:23-3:10
CENTRAL TRUTH:
God's blessing does not exclude his people from hardship/suffering.
WHAT DOES THE SUFFERING OF THE ISRAELITES IN EGYPT TEACH US:
Suffering is allowed as an exercise of God's wisdom. (Exodus 1:7-12, cf. Gen. 15:13-14)
Suffering is a breeding ground for an encounter with God. (Exodus 2:23-3:7)
Suffering makes room for God's power to be displayed. (Exodus 3:8-9)
Suffering always has an expiration date. (Exodus 3:10)
CONCLUSION:
When suffering and hardship arise, don't just look for a way out, look to God, our Savior and Redeemer.
